Pu u Ualaka a State Park - Tantalus Mountain

The 2000' climb up Tantalus ends with Pu'u Ualaka'a State Park. Breathtaking 270 degree views of enitre southern coast of Honolulu and more.

A winding drive up Round Top Dr or Tantalus Rd will bring you to this secluded park located near the Peak of Tatalus. An observation platform built on its point offers the best views on the southeast coast of Oahu. An amazing place to watch the sun set over the western pacific ocean.

The roads to the park are winding and narrow. Take this route slow and enjoy the many overlooks and beautiful propeties which dot this area. Please be cautious of bikers and motorcycles.

The trail head located near the entrance of the park is part of vast network of hiking trails that interweave throughout the mountains. Trails can often be muddy and step but showcase some of the most beautiful tropical foliage Oahu. Although some trail markers are present is best to always bring a partner on these trails and leave a hike plan in your cars window for safety reasons. Basic trail map is available near trailhead, come prepared with water and adequate foot wear.
